LearningSoft Appoints Corey E. Brady to Newly Created Position of Chief Education Officer
Pembroke Pines, Fla. – Nov. 17, 2006 – LearningSoft, a handheld computing and assessment company focusing on affordable technologies for schools, has appointed Corey E. Brady, formerly of Texas Instruments, as chief education officer. Brady brings 11 years of experience in product development, marketing and market strategy, and education research to the company. He will report to LearningSoft cofounder and CEO David Cole.
As chief education officer, Brady will oversee education market research and strategy and serve as LearningSoft’s primary representative to pilot projects and educators at all levels. As a member of the management team he will also participate in corporate strategy and administration. According to Cole, “Corey will be helping us to position our platform and products for ‘best and highest’ use. He is an exceptional leader with a proven focus on results, and he has the management and educational experience to take us to the levels of success we want to achieve.”
Prior to joining LearningSoft, Brady was product line strategy manager at Texas Instruments (TI) Inc. where he led research and development initiatives associated with the TI-Navigator product line. These included collaboration with classroom teachers, education researchers, and development partners. Before that, Brady was chief operating officer and chief education officer at Boxer Learning Inc. He has been a speaker at conference presentations, workshops, and keynotes at universities, as well as at national and international events.
Brady’s classroom teaching experience includes middle school, high school, community college, and university levels. He has served as an instructor at the University of Virginia, the University of Chicago, Piedmont Virginia Community College in Charlottesville, Va. and The Roxbury Latin School in West Roxbury, Mass. During 2001, he was co-editor of the guidebook The Experts’ Guide to the K-12 School Market from publisher The Internet Monitor.
A 1996 recipient of a master of arts in English literature from the University of Virginia, Brady also received a master of science in pure mathematics from the University of Chicago in 1993. He obtained a bachelor of arts dual degree in English literature and mathematics from Dartmouth College in 1990.
